Nightglass is a browser extension that shows websites in dark mode. It is built to collect as little as possible.

What stays on your device

Your settings (theme, per-site choices, custom CSS), your free-trial start date and your licence key are stored by your browser. If you are signed in to your browser, it syncs them between your own devices. We never receive them.

Websites you visit

Nightglass changes how pages look entirely inside your browser. To recolour a page it may download that page's own stylesheets from the same servers your browser already loads them from. We do not record, collect, sell or share your browsing history or page contents, and there is no analytics or tracking.

Buying a licence

When you choose to buy, Nightglass asks this server to create an order, and you pay on a checkout page run by Revolut. Your card and contact details go to Revolut, not to us, and are handled under Revolut's privacy policy. Afterwards Nightglass sends this server only the order ID to confirm the payment and receive your licence key.

Device limit

A licence works on up to five devices. To enforce this, each copy of Nightglass creates a random device ID and, about once a week, sends it with your licence key and a short device label such as “Chrome on macOS” to this server. We store only that list of IDs, labels and dates for your licence; devices not seen for 90 days are removed automatically. You can see and remove your devices in Nightglass's settings.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you beyond the device list above, which you can clear yourself. Uninstalling Nightglass removes its data from your browser.
